I was going to write a blog about how we dodged a terrible Hurricane on Monday; about the horrific gasoline price inflation we are experiencing, or how terrible the looting (and moral fibre of the New Orleans leftovers) is, but I just cannot bring myself to do it.
Since the topic of the blog is MY FUN PAGE, I am not really willing to write about something as depressing as this. Besides, I can only imagine what is being said on the news.
The important thing is that I am okay and no damage came to us. The picture of the Hurricane to the left is courtesy of Wikipedia.com. God really blessed us.
The only thing I am going to say is that we are almost par with SA as far as gasoline prices are concerned - all conversions taken into consideration. The gas price escalated by 30c overnight. We are facing a serious gas shortage in America due to one hurricane in the Gulf. The President is even speaking about finally tapping into the oil reserves so that the prices only increase by 15c as opposed to 30c. In addition, the refineries in the Gulf of Mexico have been damaged by Lady Katrina of the Obliteration Assocation.
Sadly, it was brought to our attention last night that the price per gallon last year this time was a mere $1.86 whereas now we are facing $3.00 per gallon. It will never be the same again. That was all before Hurricane Ivan. The Hurricanes are moving in and the people are moving out.
So, now that I have depressed everyone, how about some fascinating news! Two months till I fly back to SA!!!!!!!
