One Year Down, Forever More To Go

For those of you that shared our big day at Hazendal Wine Estate in Cape Town last year, we want to thank you for making that day forever special in our minds. To those of you that couldn't make it, you have no idea what you missed!

Today we celebrate our first anniversary. It has been a very fast, wonderful and exciting year for us. I truly enjoy being Mrs. Young-Morris and Larry enjoys flashing his ring.

Of course, the first year of marriage is reputed to be the toughest and understandably so! Every decision you make from 'I do' onwards now directly affects another person. Not just anyone, but someone you are going to be beside for the rest of your life.

Yet, what I have learnt - above all else - is that there must be something else that bonds a man and woman together after that "gooey" butterfly feeling subsides and everyday life takes over. Everyone on earth has some imperfections, and more often than not those things that used to be "cute" become annoying.

I have come to realise that the bond of friendship is the only glue strong enough to keep people together for the rest of their lives. Another thing is that friends usually make decisions based on what would result in peace.

Therefore, the glue that keeps a man and woman together must be friendship and the ultimate goal for the marriage must be peace. That is where love truly abides and gives birth to hope.
