It's been a while

Wow! What a time it has been since my mom left. For the most part I have been getting used to despoiling myself (getting used to the housework and being creative at dinner time instead of arriving home to a cooked meal).

Sadly, the beautiful Fuscia has now left us. We enjoyed it while it was around and it was beautiful. Oh well, moving on...

In the meantime I have celebrated my 25th Birthday. The next day I was told that I looked younger than a 21-year old. When I was 15 I looked 25. Then at 20 I looked 16 or 17. Maybe now I look 18 or perhaps I have not aged. It is all quite interesting.

All aside, it was a wonderful birthday. My friend, Bridget, has her birthday the day after mine and we decided to celebrate together at the beach with some folks. It ended up being the two of us, Jennifer and Teri with too much food. It was fun but lightning chased us away.

Apparently the happy birthday bags gave us away because people constantly wished us and some sweet lady brought me the most perfect cony-twirly sea shell as a gift. The next day Larry's mom took me shopping and treated me.

The Wednesday before my birthday my boss had a birthday luncheon for Bridget and I (we used to work together and she is still well liked) at McGuire's.

The downside to the birthday week (actually, it is more of a schlep than anything else):

Our neighbour had a rotten tree that decided it liked our carport roof and power line very much. It consequently severed the neutral leg sending 240 charge through the house and frying any and every electronic that was plugged in. The A/C got fried, which is really impossible to go without at this point - but it could have been July or August and I truly would have lost my mind in that heat. We slept at Larry's dad's house for two nights until the landlord had it fixed. The stove works but the oven no longer works. Luckily that is the landlord's problem along with the carport roof.

Our T.V., microwave, stereos, iHome, the adapters to the phones, modem and wireless router were all fried. I decided to get a convection oven/combination microwave with some birthday money and now I am happy. As for the the replacement of the TV and stereos, I will have to get a letter going from my boss (who is a real estate lawyer).

So, it is all fun and games. Other than that, we are having the time of our lives and enjoying each other before we get around to the pitter patter of little feet.
