Okay, now that you caught your breath, let's continue:
Well, we could not let an opportunity like that slip through our fingers. Larry promptly got on the phone with Dear Sara, his step mom, who owns the Navy Cove condo we had
Then another miracle happened! No one had rented the condo for the weekend.
Are you still there? Don't worry, I also almost fell off my chair when Larry telephone to tell me the news. It was to be all ours for the entire weekend.
Just when you thought God ran out of miracles, another one hit us. I consulted with my boss quite carefully about whether or not he would let me leave early on Friday since it was not a payroll Friday. He asked me what time I wanted to leave. I sent the ball back into his court
Whilst I was reeling with shock, I contacted Larry excitedly to share the news. What
Friday morning I put a few things together and went to work excited that I could leave at noon. I thought it might be one of those mornings that dragged on forever, but time flew for me and I was on my way home befor
I don't know why I even packed my makeup bag because I did not intend on wearing it at all. Actually, all we really needed were a few bathing suits and towels.
We stopped by the Wal-Mart on the way out there and stocked up on a few grocery items to drink and eat while we were out there since the condo is just miles and miles down the road from a real grocery store.
Too much money for too few items! I cannot believe how gouged I felt when we walked out of the "always low prices" place. I can't imagine how it would have felt at Winn-Dixie that is notorious for charging much more for the exact same items.
Getting to the condo was such a relief. I felt as though months of stress simply slipped from me like silk. It smelled wonderful as only Sara's houses can smell. It looked like we had stepped into a magazine cover. And, then there was the view.
We unpacked a bit and slipped into our bathing suits to set out for the gorgeous pool below. What a difference a cool pool can make on a scorching day. We frolicked like little children until we were exhausted. I felt about five again - when life
For dinner we had lasagna and watched a movie then we baked some chocolate chip cookies and pretty soon we were asleep like little puppies.
Sadly, Larry had to go to the resort for a few hours because someone decided to have a real estate auction on a Saturday morning. The person actually thought normal labour rates would apply at some point. HA! It's after hours, buddy! So, Larry extorted while I slept in and watched The Shaggy Dog movie on T.V. while still lying in bed. Vrot!
I eventually got out of bed and showered only to get back into my bathing suit for the beach. The beach is actually within walking distance but we just cart too much crap with us to go with a towel. No, this miss likes to have the beach blanket, an umbrella, drinks like water, a book and her ipod with her. So, we drove.
The water was very lovely but we arrived as a school of fishies passed by. It grosses me out to swim with the fish I can see. Then a big one swam into my leg (I assume it was a fish) and I about walked on water back to the beach blanket.
Unfortunately, our serene location was soon also
For lunch we had serious meat and cheese sarmies and then back down to the swimming pool with the occasional dip in the hot tub. We were amazed how we could get in the hot tub and be steaming and step out and the air would feel nice and cool which it didn't a moment before.
Sadly, evening came too soon. We decided to go to dinner at the Giggling Grouper so that I could try some fried crab legs and also for some grouper and chips. Delicious!! Especially since we found a coupon that gave us half price on the second entree. Who
Larry took a nap which lasted all night. I think the beer, sun and food just completely exhausted him. I stayed up and watched T.V. until midnight having a blast not having to do anything or think very hard.
Unfortunately, Sunday came far too quickly and we reluctantly packed up, washed the sheets and towels for Sara and moseyed on home. At home we continued our trend of laziness and watched three movies!
But what a weekend. Have fun looking at the sunset! And get away for a weekend if you can. It'll make your eyes sparkle (while your bank account is depleted).
